SLIC – Sequence Listing Information Control is intended to facilitate the acceptance of the new WIPO Standard on the Presentation of Nucleotide and Amino Acid sequence listings using eXtensible Markup Language (XML). The system allows patent applicants to draw up a single sequence listing in a patent application which will be acceptable for national, regional and international patent applications. It also enhances the accuracy and quality of presentations of sequences for easier dissemination of sequences, benefitting applicants, the public, and examiners. In addition to allowing for sequence data to be exchanged in electronic form, i.e., computer readable form and introduced into computerized databases, the SLIC system also facilitates the United States Patent and Trademark Office(USPTO) to accept, process, and disseminate sequence listing data in ST.26 format in the near future. The purpose of this task is to implement the transition of bio-sequence tools, systems, and processes from WIPO ST.25 to those based on WIPO ST.26. The System Design, Requirements gathering from business, User story development, sizing and Sprint plan, System development, Testing and Deployment to production has been carried out by Skysoft Inc.
